GlobalReach is involved in several hybrid 5G/Wi-Fi convergence projects, including our deployments with our partner Ontix in Trafalgar Square and six west-end street markets, providing top-quality connectivity for tourists and stall holders. The service is also a ‘first of its kind’ Passpoint roaming service, allowing AT&T subscribers from the US, who are visiting these popular areas, to get online instantly and take advantage of services like Wi-Fi calling, saving their overseas roaming charges.
Launched in early 2020, the Ontix Wi-Fi service is the first in Central London to offer Passpoint™ connectivity, which is provided by GlobalReach Technology. A solution to mobile connectivity and capacity challenges in dense, inner-city areas, AT&T is pioneering the use of the service to provide automatic roaming through SIM authentication for its mobile customers.
