GlobalReach Technology has provided a Hotspot 2.0 online sign-up (OSU) server not one, but three times for the WBA’s Wi-Fi Global Congress.
The service provided event delegates with seamless authentication and roaming at three different venues including San Jose (2015); London (2015) and San Francisco (2014).
The WBA event services were enabled by GlobalReach’s cloud-based Wi-Fi platform. Event delegates simply completed a one-time profile download, for a cellular-like, seamless and secure authentication to the service and an automatic connection whenever they were in range of the Hotspot 2.0 next generation Hotspots.
The WBA is the industry’s leading body for the development of specifications, guidelines, resources and collaborative work to make the Wi-Fi experience easier, more secure and available to more people. The choice of GlobalReach as the Wi-Fi provisioning and authentication platform was testament to the company’s Hotspot 2.0 leadership.
Separate to the WBA events from the GlobalReach has a rich history with California’s Silicon Valley Wi-Fi. Working with San Francisco and San Jose, GlobalReach created and launched the world’s first large-scale municipal Passpoint™ Hotspot 2.0 service in 2014, allowing millions of visitors and residents to automatically and securely connect to the internet.
